Our Mission

Jesus said in the Great Commission, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) It is that call of God that burns within the heart of every true believer, whether it be to go to a foreign field or be a witness on the home front. Today, more than any other time in the history of the church, we have extraordinary tools to assist us in fulfilling that commission. Technology has given us the means to reach more people with less effort than our forefathers ever dreamed would be possible. Our burden is to reach as many people as we possibly can through the medium of internet radio and that is why Sacred Turntable was born, to the glory of God. We will be playing some wonderful classic sacred music along with other interesting segments, all with the hope of encouraging believers and reaching those who have yet to come to Christ. Join us in prayer that this station will bring honor and glory to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
For several months now, we have been working to convert our collection of records and cassettes to digital files with the goal of creating Sacred Turntable. After a lot of research and trial-and-error, we finally hit upon what we hope is a good balance between the analog and digital. The cassettes are pretty easy, as long as they are in good condition, but the records are another matter all together. First of all, it is practically impossible to make a record sound exactly like a CD. Today's recording equipment technology is far superior to that of the yesteryear's. The older records are especially difficult because the software will pick up EVERY little sound and magnify it. Thankfully, in our research, we ran across a great software that is really amazing. There is a fine line to walk though, because if you "clean" too much noise from your album, you create more digital noise. That's why you will hear some scratches and needle noise on these songs, but just imagine you are forty years younger, listening to the old phonograph, and enjoy the records for what they are: a great piece of history that we should preserve.
While we are playing a variety of classic sacred music, both from professional and nonprofessional artists, we want to highlight our holiness Bible colleges, family groups, mission organizations, and children. Many of the people you will hear on this station are already in Heaven and we want to honor them for their contributions to our lives. Others that you will hear were children at the time of the recording, but are now grown with families of their own. To all who have left us this priceless treasure, thank you. |
